Raya’s Easy, No-Wet Rice Cooker Rice Method
Place the rice in a small saucepan.
Add water to the saucepan and boil gently to remove any particles of rice from the bottom.
Place the rice in the rice cooker and fill it to the rice line.
Step 1: Prepare the rice
Cooking the rice requires a little prepping of the rice, and more importantly, it requires you to know exactly how to cook rice. There are a number of different methods of cooking rice, but you will probably need to stick to the technique that’s based around soaking your rice and cooking it in water over an extended period of time.
The easiest way to cook rice is by putting it in a rice cooker.
This is the easiest way to cook rice, and the method that most beginners will start with. You will need a rice cooker with a digital display and a wide temperature range so that you can set it to cook the rice as it is meant to be cooked.
Pre-soak your rice:
Put a tablespoon of water into a small bowl and add the rice. Soak the rice for a few minutes.
Step 2: Bring the water to a boil
Next, we’ll boil the water for the rice. We’re going to cook our rice for 6 to 8 minutes, but keep an eye on it, you can put the rice cooker on automatic when the water is boiling.
Step 3: Add the rice and make sure it’s not too hot
When the water starts boiling, remove the lid from the cooker and add the rice. Wait for the water to boil again, so that the rice is covered in steam. After the water has started to steam again, put the lid back on and give the cooker a stir. After 5 minutes, check the rice for the state of the rice. If it’s too hot, add a few tablespoons of cold water. If it’s too cold, add a little more rice. Make sure that you stir it well so that there is no unpleasant smell.
Step 3: Add the rice and reduce the heat
Once your rice has cooked, open the lid and gently stir in the aromatics.
Finally, increase the heat to medium-high, and stir the rice for 30 seconds to help ensure it is fully cooked.
Step 4: Quickly add the vegetables, meat or chicken
Spice up your rice with aromatics like fresh garlic and ginger. The veggies can be tossed with olive oil, soy sauce, and sesame oil or, if you don’t have time, can be pre-chopped before cooking.
Step 5: Give it a quick stir before serving
Once the rice is cooked to the right temperature, give it a quick stir before serving.
Step 6: Serve your fried rice with your favorite garnishes, like spring onions and fried chives, or add some baby spinach.
